I like listening to heavy metal, neurofunk, drum and bass, electro and loud classical music. I love being a dad, and I love looking forward to bringing up my children and watching them grow into adults. I'm a late night reader and I like reading anything I can get my hands on. (I even read the backs of cleaning products when im in the loo).
I do not have any religious beliefs. I find the blind following of dogmatic beliefs stifling and totally pointless. I come from a Sikh background, but I do not feel any cultural leanings towards my parents religion. I enjoy learning and reading about other cultures and I think they make the world an interesting and vibrant place to live but they are just not for me.

Eskimo: "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?"
Priest: "No, not if you did not know."
Eskimo: "Then why did you tell me?"

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
William J. H. Boetcker (1873–1962)

"An atheist loves his fellow man instead of god. An atheist believes that he can get no help thru prayer, but that he must find in himself the inner conviction, and strength to meet life, to grapple with it, and enjoy it. An atheist believes that a hospital should be built rather than a church. An atheist believes that a deed must be done instead of a prayer said. An atheist strives for involvement in life and not escape into death. He wants disease conquered, poverty vanished, war eliminated. He wants man to understand and love man. He wants an ethical way of life. He believes that we cannot rely on god nor channel action into prayer nor hope for an end of troubles in a hereafter. He believes that we are the keeps of our own lives and that we are our brother’s keeper; that we are responsible persons and that the job is here and the time is now."
-Madalyn Murray O'Hair

Elections are decided by the votes of the uneducated many for the corrupt few."
George Bernard Shaw.

"It is usually when men are at their most religious that they behave with the least sense and the greatest cruelty." ~ Ilka Chase

People talk about how the Earth is this splendid jewel and so perfectly attuned for life. No it isn't! 99% of all species that have ever existed are extinct. The Earth is trying to kill you. Earthquakes, asteroids, climate variations, hurricanes, floods, and so on." Niel DeGrasse Tyson.

"..where ignorance is bliss, 'Tis folly to be wise." Thomas Gray

Life Isn't about waiting for
The storm to pass,
It's about learning to dance
In the rain!

"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." Evelyn Beatrice Hall on Voltaire (thanks for the heads-up bewhexe!)brewhexe

“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” Margaret Thatcher

“You remember the ice age? It’s been warming ever since, and there ain’t nothing we can do to stop it.” Burns

“There is no convincing evidence that human release of carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases is causing, or will cause in the future, catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere or disruption of the Earth's climate.”

“Global warmers predict that global warming is coming, and our emissions are to blame. They do that to keep us worried about our role in the whole thing. If we aren't worried and guilty, we might not pay their salaries. It's that simple.” Kary Mullis Winner of the 1993 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Heinlien said it best: Appealing to people rationally doesn't always work because some people just aren't rational.
